The Boston Police Department's outreach continues as Districts E-5 and E-18 hosted another installment of the Junior Police Academy, a community engagement initiative designed to foster relationships between law enforcement and youth.

Last week, children from Hyde Park, West Roxbury, and Roslindale participated in a series of activities through the program; these ranged from recreational outings like bowling and Duck Tours, to educational visits to landmarks such as Fenway Park, not to mention they also got the opportunity to learn from the BPD's Harbor Unit, K-9, and Explosive Ordnance teams, for an encompassing view of the police force's daily operations.

The academy not only offered fun and games but also provided valuable insights into the world of law enforcement, with participants closing out the week by receiving certificates acknowledging their participation and effort, according to official statements from the Boston Police Department.

This initiative is made possible through funding from the Boston Police Foundation's COP Fund, which continues to support such community-based programs, the Foundation expresses gratitude for their continuous support while the Boston Police Department encourages the public to stay tuned for more events that are slated to roll out across additional districts and neighborhoods in Boston.
