The Broadmoor Police Department has issued a community safety alert following thefts targeting Ford F-250 Platinum Edition tailgates. According to the Broadmoor PD’s social media post, two incidents were reported in the Garden Lane and Village Lane neighborhoods, where tailgates were swiped from trucks parked on the street during the night. The police are now looking for a black or dark green 1990s Ford Ranger, 2-door/regular cab with silver rims, which was observed near the thefts.

In both cases, suspects took advantage of the trucks' unlocked tailgates, pointing to the ever-present need for vehicle owners to take precautionary measures. The Broadmoor PD's communication stressed that "these crimes only take a few minutes — but even small prevention steps can make a big difference." They advised residents to always lock their vehicles, including tailgates, and to park in well-lit areas when possible.

The department also reminded community members to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity they observe, emphasizing the "see something, say something" principle. Broadmoor Police have urged anyone to make a report by calling 650-755-3838. Residents have been urged to take additional precautions to secure their belongings and actively safeguard the neighborhood. “Report suspicious vehicles or activity right away,” the PD’s post reinforced.
