Gothamist reports that 20-year-old Jayla Echevarria and her 3-year-old daughter, Nova, were last observed departing their residence on East 96th Street and Linden Boulevard in East Flatbush at around 2 p.m. on Monday. The incident has sparked concern, as the pair has no known history of previous disappearances.
The NYPD is calling on the public to potentially assist in unraveling the mystery of their whereabouts. Descriptions provided by the police outline Jayla as standing about 5 feet 4 inches with black hair. She was last seen outfitted in a black tube top, ripped blue jeans, and black sneakers. According to Gothamist, Nova was wearing a blue shirt, blue shorts, and pink shoes the last time she was seen. Despite thorough investigations, the NYPD has yet to ascertain clearly where the mother and daughter intended to go following their departure.
