Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, is stepping up its game to support local entrepreneurs and business owners with a couple of key events aimed to enhance business operations and community engagement. This Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Brooklyn Park Small Business Center at 7970 Brooklyn Blvd will host "Thriving Thursdays," an initiative by Elevate Hennepin offering free, drop-in consultations for business strategy, marketing, and more. Business folks looking to expand their network can anticipate connecting with consultants, identifying various supporting resources, and mingling with like-minded individuals in the cityscape of Brooklyn Park. Details on the event were provided by Josephine Thao, Project Facilitator, in a bulletin released August 20th.
The following week brings another opportunity for the Brooklyn Park community to immerse in local culture while supporting area entrepreneurs. On Saturday, August 30, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Northwinds Plaza's parking lot at 7944 Brooklyn Blvd will be transformed for the "Summer at the Plaza: Arts & Business Expo." Families can enjoy free school supplies while they last, free haircuts for kids on a first-come-first-serve basis, and indulge in food trucks and family-friendly activities. Plus, attendees can explore what Brooklyn Park's Small Business Center has to offers to the local entrepreneurs.
In an effort to ensure the safety and protection of local businesses, the Brooklyn Park Police Department has unveiled the Safe Community Camera Program. This initiative encourages business owners to register their external security cameras voluntarily with the police department, aiding in crime detection and prevention within the community. This program underscores a collective vigilance, inviting all types to contribute to the communal well-being of the district where commerce and fraternity meet to weave the vibrant tapestry that is Brooklyn Park.
Registration for the camera program is straightforward, emphasizing no automatic footage sharing and a high regard for privacy. Kimberly Czapar from the Brooklyn Park Police Department assures potential participants that this scheme is about forging stronger bonds between businesses and law enforcement, to create a safer environment for everyone—the quintessential Minnesota nice in action. Sign-up information is available here, for those interested in joining the watchful eyes safeguarding the community.
