Get ready for a cultural smorgasbord at the Carrollton Culture Fest this September. Taking over Historic Downtown Carrollton at 1106 S. Broadway Street, the event promises to fill your Saturday afternoon and evening, specifically on September 27 from 3-9 p.m., with global cuisine, drinks, and entertainment, according to the City of Carrollton. Admission is free.
The festival, previously dubbed World of Foodies, has stepped up its game with an even broader assortment of international eats and culture. Food and drink vendors will spotlight flavors from France to Japan and beyond. Fans of good brews and spirits, whether you're on team alcohol or not, will appreciate the newbie on the block, Bevvy Blvd, an international drink garden featuring everything from the classic French 75 to 3 Nations Brewing Co.'s home-crafted TEXIAN Mexican-Style Lager.
But it's not just about filling your stomach; the Culture Fest also brings the world to your senses with an array of vibrant cultural performances. The stage will come alive with acts like Drums of Tahiti - Polynesian Revue and Rising Phoenix Lion Dragons. Plus, each group will stick around post-performance to mingle, snap photos, and even teach you a few dance steps. There's plenty for kids, too, with the Korean American Youth Artists of Texas offering craft sessions and street games from around the world peppering the festival grounds.
The marketplace aspect of the event isn't taking a backseat, either. Artisan vendors will peddle globally-inspired wares, perfect for taking a piece of the world home. Hop over to the Kouka Calligraphy Studio for a free craft session, or unwind at the sensory-friendly break area if you, or the little ones, need a breather from the fest's buzz. Also, don't leave without a pic or two; professional photobooths and a little yarn bombing photography scenery await.
