
Fire crews responded to a house fire in a Charlotte neighborhood. The Charlotte Fire Department said the fire on the 3000 block of Cutchin Drive caused about $355,000 in damage. Engine 16 arrived quickly, with firefighters working to control flames coming from the roof.
At around 1:55 a.m., Battalion 5 took command and led an attack on the fire. They contained the fire by 2:39 a.m. Firefighters searched the house and confirmed it was empty. No one was injured or needed rescue. Their quick response prevented any loss of life on Cutchin Drive, as reported by the Charlotte Fire Department.
According to the Charlotte Fire Department on their Facebook page, the Fire Investigation Task Force found that the fire started accidentally in the attic. Engine 19’s crew shared GoPro footage showing the conditions firefighters faced. No injuries were reported. The fire caused significant damage to the house and its contents. The department responded quickly and shared the footage to inform the public. Their social media sign-off is "We are Charlotte Fire."
