
This morning, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department began a homicide investigation after an incident in the North Division. According to CMPD's official report, officers were called to the 10200 block of Reindeer Way Lane, where they found an unconscious individual following what was initially reported as a fight.
Shortly after arriving at the scene just after 5:15 a.m., responders found the victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by officers and MEDIC personnel to provide aid, the victim was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The CMPD Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Search team are currently investigating the incident, gathering physical evidence from the crime scene.
