Labor Day weekend in Colorado Springs is shaping up to be filled with the usual festivities and a fair share of closures. According to the City of Colorado Springs, the City has declared that all administrative offices will be closed come Monday, September 1, in honor of the holiday. This closure includes offices such as the Mountain Metropolitan Transit administrative offices, City Hall, the Municipal Court, and various community centers.
However, not all will be quiet in the city. Designated public spaces and attractions will remain open with normal or special holiday hours. One such hotspot, the Deerfield Hills Spray Ground at 4290 Deerfield Hills Road, plans to operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. over the weekend, including Labor Day, before closing down for the year. Additionally, Garden of the Gods Park is one of the venues keeping its gates open for adventurers from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., though it too will switch to fall hours beginning Tuesday, September 2.
The Labor Day Vintage Base Ball game at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m., is set to be another draw for residents looking to engage in the community's historical recreation. The city's golf courses at Patty Jewett and Valley Hi will also be teeing off with public play on the holiday weekend, accommodating the City Golf Championship on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, with slots opening to the public at midday.
