The Coppell Police Department has proudly announced its 2025 award recipients, recognizing a select group of dedicated officers and volunteers for their exceptional service to the community. In a social media post that serves not just as a celebratory notice but also a testament to the values that build Coppell's sense of safety, the department spotlights individuals who have displayed outstanding dedication. "We are so proud to share with the community our 2025 award recipients, and we are honored they represent our department," professed the Coppell Police Department's Facebook page.
The honors, spread across various categories, aim to individually recognize the efforts of those who have notably stood out. The accolades include the Message to Garcia Award and Supervisor of the Year, which went to Sergeant Maurer. For an act of valor, the Life-Saving Award was jointly given to Officer Acker, Officer Hukill, and Corporal Stanford, who each played a pivotal role in a life-threatening situation. "We are grateful for the passion each of you have for the profession, and the commitment each of you make day in and day out to keep the Coppell community safe," the Coppell Police Department continued, encapsulating a sentiment of gratitude.
The Officer of the Year title was awarded to Officer Odean for their exceptional service. Demonstrating the department's appreciation of community involvement, Hilary Sharlach was named Animal Services Volunteer of the Year, and Dan Frey took home the Police Department Volunteer of the Year award. Meanwhile, the rookie spotlight shone on Officer Horner, who received the Rookie of the Year honor.
