Dallas streets experienced a crackdown this past Monday as the Dallas Police Department's Northeast Patrol Division, paired with the Street Racing Task Force, put a stop to a street takeover known for its stunts and dangerous driving. Officers swarmed an area near Peavy Road and Buckner Boulevard after community members complained about the reckless antics that had apparently become a recurring Monday evening event.

The operation was based on citizen reports and subsequent observations made by law enforcement. Officers managed to quickly follow the group, witnessing multiple traffic violations, and tracked the participants to the 10700 block of Miller Road and the White Rock Lake area. Here, the police issued 30 citations covering offenses such as driving without a license, insurance, or registration, and displaying expired registration. As the Dallas Police Department reports, there was also an arrest with one gun seized during the crackdown.

Among those arrested, Alfred Jenkins, 29, faces charges of Reckless Driving and Unlicensed Carrying of a Weapon, while Jose Leyba, 26, was also charged with Reckless Driving. The operation not only resulted in citations but also led to the impounding of 12 e-bikes and dirt bikes. Major Gabriel Candelaria, commander of the Northeast Patrol Division, underscored the department's commitment to safety in his statement to the Dallas Police Department: “We enforce Texas laws to keep our streets safe. Our streets are not a stage for stunt driving and reckless behavior.”
