
In a sobering reminder of the perils of drunk driving, DeSoto Police reported a collision involving an intoxicated motorist on Monday. The incident, which occurred around 10:20 p.m., took place in the 1400 block of North Interstate Highway 35E. According to eyewitnesses, a blue Ford Escape collided with the driver’s side of an Amazon delivery truck while traversing the southbound lane.
The driver of the Ford Escape was apprehended and identified as Quincy J. Miller, a Dallas resident. DeSoto Police informed that Miller showed signs of alcohol impairment, and consequently, he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. The arrest led to the impounding of Miller's vehicle. Despite the potential for disaster, it was reported that no one was injured in the accident.
The DeSoto Police Department took to social media to underscore the ongoing threat that impaired driving poses to the community. They implore citizens to "designate a sober driver or utilize alternative transportation if drinking." This incident serves as a stark reminder to the community to prioritize safety on the roadways.
