The City Auditor's Office has just dropped their latest numbers, the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Q3 report is out, and it's shining a light on how they've been managing the city's issues, from the struggles with homelessness to keeping our rec centers up-to-snuff. With one new audit touching on the homelessness crisis and a follow-up review checking in on how our recreational facilities are doing, the City Auditor’s Office is trying to keep things transparent. They've also been on their toes, fielding a pair of requests for advice and assistance, because let’s face it, this city is never short on problems needing some expertise, per the City of Denton.
Now here's where things get down to the nitty-gritty – they've used about 73 percent of their audit project budget by the end of this quarter, which means they’ve still got some room to wiggle for the rest of the year and maybe, just maybe, they might find even more we should know about. The office's stated goal with these quarterly reports is to keep City Council in the loop and let you, the people making this city tick, know where they're at with the Annual Internal Audit Plan and what's up with those follow-up recommendations.
If number-crunching and city auditing are your jam, or you're just keen on staying informed on how our tax dollars are working for us, then you'll want to check out the full report. It's up for anyone and everyone on the Internal Audit Website, just a click away for all the deets on what's been going under the microscope over at the City Auditor's Office.
