The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Police Academy recently celebrated the graduation of Class #145, as announced by the DeSoto Police Department through a social media post. Two officers from DeSoto, Evan White and Jose Vazquez, were among the 31 recruits to graduate on August 1, marking the end of approximately six months of intensive training. Both officers successfully passed their state licensing exam and now hold the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Basic Peace Officer Certification, a testament to their dedication and perseverance in the field of law enforcement training.
It wasn't just the completion of training that Officer Evan White had to celebrate, but he was also the recipient of the “James Allman Leadership & Integrity Award,” a peer-recognized honor spotlighting individuals who demonstrate standout leadership and integrity at the academy, as the DeSoto Police Department indicated. Senior Sergeant Chris Dyer and Detective Tim Allman, the brother of the late James Allman, presented the award, which commemorates the values of the former Dallas Sheriff’s Deputy who died in service in 1995.
The DeSoto Police Department expressed its congratulations to both newly minted officers and conveyed its best wishes for their continued success as they transition into their careers, upholding law and order. Their achievement highlights the rigorous training regimen that law enforcement officers undergo to prepare for the multitude of scenarios they will face in their duties to protect and serve the community.
