Disney Cruise Line is setting a new course with expanded offerings that will allow both Texas and California residents to embark on the Disney experience from their home ports. Starting in late 2026, KHOU reports that the Disney Magic will usher in an extended season of cruises from Galveston, Texas, with destinations like Mexico's Cozumel and Progreso, as well as the Bahamas – including stops at Nassau and the private island of Castaway Cay.
Meanwhile, Southern California will enjoy a double dose of Disney with two ships at San Diego's port during the fall of 2026. The Disney Magic will stay briefly in California for an unexpected lineup that includes a 14-night cruise before relocating to Galveston, and the Disney Wonder will anchor in San Diego for an impressive seven months, as reported by Theme Park Insider. Both ships are set to sail on various three- to seven-night itineraries that will include stops at Catalina Island, Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, and Puerto Vallarta.
Disney's themed cruises are making a comeback as well. The fleet will host "Halloween on the High Seas" in September and October 2026, followed by "Very Merrytime Cruises" during the November and December holiday season. These special sailings will feature festive décor and seasonal activities tailored to immerse guests in the holiday spirit on the high seas.
Prospective cruisers can mark their calendars as early booking opportunity kicks off August 25, 2025, for Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club members, while the general public will get their chance to book beginning September 2, 2025. Fans eager to plan their seafaring adventure with Disney can expect to encounter Art Deco elegance aboard the Magic and Wonder, along with the trademark rotational dining and live Disney musicals every night, according to information publicized by Theme Park Insider.
This diversification in the cruise lineup is a calculated move to tap into the regional markets of Disney fans who wish to partake in the cruise experience without the need for extended travel. Complete itineraries are already available on Disney's website for those ready to set their sails on these newly announced cruise options.
