During a pre-game ceremony at a recent Minnesota Twins baseball game, EPPD Officer Chad Streiff was celebrated alongside fellow law enforcement professionals as a member of the Minnesota DWI Enforcer All-Star Team. This distinction, issued by the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety, highlights officers for their efforts to combat impaired driving. Officer Streiff, with 129 DWI arrests in 2024, emerged as a prominent figure in the metro area, having the fourth-highest number of arrests among his peers.
The recognition is far from Streiff's first; he has consistently been earning his spot on the DWI Enforcer All-Star Team since joining EPPD in 2014, building a reputation for his commitment to ensure to keep our roads free of drunk drivers. According to an announcement from the EPPD, the collective efforts of the All-Stars have led to 5,120 arrests in the previous year alone. As of 2025, Officer Streiff has already tallied 92 DWI arrests.
Officer Streiff’s unwavering pursuit of safety on the streets draws attention to a persistent issue affecting not just Minnesota but the country at large. Drunk driving remains a leading cause of traffic-related deaths, with enforcement and education being key components in the fight to reduce these preventable tragedies. The ceremony at the Twins game serves to not just honor the individual achievements of officers like Streiff but also to remind the public of the ongoing dangers of driving under the influence.
The community and the EPPD have voiced appreciation for Officer Streiff and his colleagues' dedicated work. "Thank you to Officer Streiff and the other DWI Enforcer All-Stars for helping to keep our roadways safe from drunk drivers," reads a statement from the EPPD's blog post. This sentiment highlights the collective understanding that the work these officers do has a critical impact on community safety, with enforcement officers like Streiff being crucial in mitigating a widespread and dangerous problem.
