A 60-year-old Jackson Township man, Joseph Wiederhold, is facing serious legal consequences after being indicted by the Clermont County Grand Jury. As reported by the Clermont County Sheriff's Office, Wiederhold was charged yesterday with 24 counts of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor or Impaired Person, all second-degree felonies under Ohio law.

These charges were the culmination of an investigation that began on May 20, when detectives received a Cyber Tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force. The tip suggested that child sexual abuse material (CSAM) was downloaded to an account from an address in the 5000 block of Jackson Township. Subsequent to receiving the tip, detectives executed a search warrant at Wiederhold's residence and seized multiple electronic devices for further investigation.

According to a thorough examination by the Hamilton County Regional Electronics and Computer Investigations Unit, the devices contained a substantial amount of CSAM, including material involving infants and toddlers. Investigators have confirmed that none of the children depicted were housed at Wiederhold's residence, nor are they believed to be local. The ongoing efforts continue in collaboration with NCMEC and ICAC to help identify the victims. Wiederhold, during interrogation, admitted the accounts reported to NCMEC belonged to him.

Following his confession, Wiederhold was arrested last Tuesday and has since been held at the Clermont County Jail without bond. He appeared before Clermont County Common Pleas Judge Anthony Brock for an arraignment today. The additional charges have further solidified the gravity of his alleged offenses. Community members and concerned citizens seeking additional information on the indictment or ongoing investigation are directed to contact the Clermont County Prosecutor's Office.
