A car thief who targeted a school parking lot is now behind bars. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced on social media the arrest of 36-year-old William Hutchins, who was caught on camera breaking into a portable at Wolfson High School and stealing three vehicles from the school's driving track. Hutchins was identified and arrested thanks to tips from the Jacksonville community and the efforts of the Duval County School Police.
Despite the capture of Hutchins, the sheriff's office indicates that more suspects remain at large, they're encouraging residents to play a part in cleaning up the streets by visiting their Unsolved Crimes page—the law enforcement agency has a web of unsolved cases that require the public's eye, in hopes that a mere glance by the right person could crack a cold case wide open. The digital lineup, which can be found at UnsolvedCrimes.JaxSheriff.org, presents a plethora of faces that might look familiar and offers a way to report anonymously through First Coast Crime Stoppers, where tips that lead to an arrest may also lead to a financial reward for the tipster.
Those with information on the suspects still on the run are urged to call the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904.630.0500 or report anonymously to First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1.866.845.TIPS.
