The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has made an arrest following the death of James Fisher, 68, who was found inside a home in Hogan’s Creek.

As per the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office release, on Friday last week, JSO patrol officers responded to a disturbance at a residence on West 18th Street near North Davis Street. Witnesses told officers that Fisher, the suspect, and another individual might be inside. After unsuccessful attempts to enter, the JSO SWAT Team was called and later located Fisher deceased inside the home.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit identified Monae Woodward Boone, 26, as the suspect. She was arrested in the days following the incident and is currently being held at the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility on charges related to Fisher’s death.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives continue to review the circumstances and possible motive.
