A brutal carjacking in Memphis has left an elderly woman injured and one suspect behind bars while two remain at large. According to WREG, last night, at approximately 6 p.m., three men assaulted and carjacked a woman in the Studio on the Square parking lot, located at 2105 Court Avenue. The Memphis Police Department reported that the woman was forcibly removed and body-slammed by one of the assailants before they took off in her Toyota.

Latravious Standberry, 20, was apprehended after a foot pursuit following the discovery of the crashed vehicle minutes later, near Walnut Grove and Tillman Street. He has since been charged with carjacking, evading arrest, operating without a driver’s license, failure to swiftly stop and leaving the scene of an accident, and heroin possession. The urgency to rapidly apprehend the remaining suspects is palpable, with authorities launching a city-wide search. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries, signifying a glimmer of good news in this otherwise harrowing tale.

The FOX13 Memphis report clarifies the victim as a 64-year-old woman who was expected to recover from her ordeal. Witnesses or individuals with knowledge on the remaining suspects' whereabouts are encouraged to come forward, and CrimeStoppers has opened a line at 901-528-CASH for anonymous tips.

The suspects still at large were last seen escaping southbound on Cooper Street, with descriptions provided by the Action News 5. One suspect is said to have shoulder-length dreads with highlights, dressed in a dark gray shirt and light gray pants, while the second was wearing a black Rick and Morty hoodie, gray pants, and black shoes.
