A sense of relief has washed over the community of Waukesha after a missing 69-year-old man, Michael E. Taylor, was found safe. Taylor, who wandered from his home yesterday, Aug. 6, was the subject of a Silver Alert—a notification service that broadcasts information about missing persons, especially senior citizens with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other mental disabilities.
According to FOX6 News, Taylor was last seen around 3 p.m. near Sunset and Oakdale, and it was critical for authorities and the community to locate him due to his vulnerability. He is described as a male, Black, standing 5’11" and weighing around 200 pounds, with brown eyes, bald, and sporting a gray goatee.
The Waukesha Police Department, as reported by Channel 3000, confirmed that the missing man had been found and was safe. The cancellation of the Silver Alert brings an end to a brief period of apprehension felt by Taylor's family and the broader community concerned for his well-being.
During the time of his disappearance, Taylor was said to be wearing distinctive clothing that included a burgundy baseball cap, a black button-up shirt with vertical white stripes, black athletic pants, and gray sneakers—details provided by the WISN 12 News. Moreover, Taylor is missing the tip of his middle finger on his left hand, which was a critical detail in assisting the public and law enforcement in identifying him.
