
Last night, a Nevada state trooper sustained injuries in a collision on the Las Vegas freeway involving a driver suspected of DUI, who also attempted to flee the scene. As reported by News 3 LV, the trooper was responding to a separate two-vehicle crash on southbound I-15, north of the 215 Beltway, at approximately 11:43 p.m.
Encountering the traffic controls set up for the crash investigation, another driver disregarded them, colliding into the patrol vehicle containing the trooper, who was taken to a hospital following the crash. The injuries were described as non-life-threatening, according to the information from the authorities.
Meanwhile, the Nevada State Police conducted a search for the hit-and-run driver, who was later located, apprehended and arrested on suspicion of DUI. This detail comes from a report by 8 News Now, which also confirmed that the southbound lanes of I-15 were temporarily closed during the investigation and subsequent cleanup but have since reopened.
