New Braunfels has opened Willard Canyon, a new addition to the city’s Parks & Recreation system. The ten-acre green space is located on Beverley Lane off North Walnut Avenue and Wood Road and was made possible through a donation from Dr. Fred and Mrs. Colleen Willard, according to the City of New Braunfels.

Mayor Neal Linnartz expressed the community’s gratitude for the donation, describing the park as a valuable gift. The New Braunfels Parks Foundation contributed nearly $20,000 toward trail development.

The park features about one mile of interconnected trails: Canyon Trail (0.4 miles), Ledges Trail (0.35 miles), and Cactus Trail (0.25 miles). Amenities include on-street parking, trailhead signage with maps, and a shaded picnic area. Willard Canyon is open daily from dawn to midnight.
