In a recent pursuit in South Sacramento, local law enforcement apprehended a parolee driving a stolen vehicle. According to a social media post from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the incident involved 46-year-old Tiwan Greenwade, who led the deputies on a chase after refusing to pull over. The chase culminated when Greenwade crashed into a parked car that had no passengers.
Upon searching the vehicle, authorities found a loaded firearm and multiple types of narcotics, inclusive of marijuana and pills. Having been on parole for manslaughter, Greenwade was barred from possessing any firearms. After crashing the stolen vehicle into a parked car, he was arrested and is currently being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail, bail being denied due to the nature of his offenses.
Despite the serious nature of his recent run-in with the law, California law dictates that Greenwade's booking photo cannot be published since his crimes aren't "legally defined" as violent, as mentioned on the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office post. This comes as an interesting note, considering the potential danger involved in vehicle pursuits and being found in possession of a loaded firearm.
As it stands, he is set to appear in court on August 18, facing another round with the legal system.
