Phoenix musician Andrew Cline said he first heard New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle” as a child while sitting in a blue Toyota Corolla. He described the experience as the “genesis of my identity,” according to Phoenix New Times.
Cline said music played an important role in his life, recalling how the sound of a synthesizer first caught his attention while he was wrapped in a childhood blanket. These memories have influenced his songwriting and his focus on the sentimental aspects of music. He described each song as a "doorway" to meaningful experiences from the past, as reported by Phoenix New Times.
Cline and his band Astrologer released the indie-pop album “Astrologer Fleetwood Sprawl,” which he described as a “nighttime Phoenix album.” The record includes classic local commercials such as Peter Piper Pizza and Smitty’s and draws influence from Phoenix’s music scene, including the Meat Puppets and the Gin Blossoms, as mentioned by AZCentral. He said the album was created with input from his wife and bandmate, Candy Caballero-Cline, and developed as a spontaneous project reflecting memories of the city.
