The arrests kicked off on Thursday, when a PPB sergeant spotted what appeared to be a drug deal taking place at Pioneer Courthouse Square, leading to the detainment of one Michael B. Dooley. A search conducted by Bike Squad officers revealed a hoard of illicit items, among them a realistic-looking replica firearm, a knife that's considered prohibited, and a stun gun, alongside dealer-level quantities of the potent opioid fentanyl, packaging materials, and scales tainted with drug residue, according to official reports. Dooley now faces multiple charges, including Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon and Delivery of Controlled Substance.
As the sun dipped below the horizon on that same Thursday, PPB's Central Bike Squad, in allusion with the FBI and other law enforcement partners, swooped in on three more suspected dealers at varying locations across the city. These operations not only led to arrests but also resulted in the seizure of substantial amounts of narcotics and cash. The identities of these additional suspects have been withheld for the time being.
