As Sacramento braces for another stretch of sweltering heat this week, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a forecast that sees the mercury climbing well into the triple digits. According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect a high of 102 degrees today, with a gentle shift from calm to a modest southwestern breeze in the afternoon.
With the night promising only modest relief, temperatures are poised to plunge to a low around 64. Those hoping for a breeze might find solace in the south southeast wind traveling at six to eight miles per hour. Meanwhile, the heatwave shows no signs of abating, with Monday's high predicted to hover near the 100-degree mark, the wind's calmness set to be broken by a south southeast murmur around six mph.
The outlook for the rest of the week continues this simmering trend; National Weather Service indicates that Tuesday's conditions will remain sunny, with temperatures peaking at around 95 degrees and the south southwest wind maintaining a gentle pace of five to seven mph. The nighttime sky is expected to be mostly clear, dropping to a more comfortable 59 degrees.
It seems the high-pressure system refuses to loosen its grip, ensuring that Wednesday will be yet another sunny day with the high predicted at 91 degrees. When the sun falls, residents will once again be enveloped in mostly clear conditions, providing little respite with lows inching to around 60 degrees. Moving toward the weekend, the pattern of sunshine persists with Thursday's high forecast at 89 degrees and a nearly identical scenario unfolding by night.
The National Weather Service maintains that Friday will mirror the previous day, sporting a high of 89 degrees and a night that is mostly clear with lows around 58. Rolling into the weekend, it appears that the oppressive heat may begin to wane, setting Saturday's high at a comparatively cooler 84 degrees, promising at least a slight reprieve from the relentless warmth embraced by Sacramento over the past days.
