In an incident that ignited community concern, Windsor Deputies arrested 18-year-old Kamoryn Hill from Santa Rosa on charges related to firearm possession following a brawl at Pat Elsbree Skate Park, adjacent to Windsor Middle School. The Town of Windsor Police Department reported that last Tuesday, amidst a clash involving both juveniles and young adults, Hill allegedly brandished a gun before fleeing.
Deputies, alerted to the altercation, later identified and stopped the suspected vehicle on Brooks Road South near an Applebee’s restaurant during their response to the incident, and upon confrontation, Hill is reported to have discarded a black bag, which contained an unregistered loaded handgun found in the street gutter. Following the retrieval of the weapon and bag, deputies arrested Hill on multiple firearm charges, including possession of a loaded concealed firearm, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and carrying a loaded firearm in public, despite the chaos of the immediate aftermath, which saw the arrestee throwing the bag and the gun subsequently being discovered.
Hill was processed and released on pretrial supervision. The Town of Windsor Police Department expressed its disapproval of violence and the complications arising from non-cooperation, stating, "When witnesses remain silent, accountability is harder to achieve, and communities pay the price for gun violence."
Further complicating the case is the wall of silence from those involved in the fight. Participants have withheld information, and parents have instructed their children not to speak to law enforcement, hindering the investigation.
