A Silver Alert has been activated by the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons for 76-year-old James Ingram Mullis, who was last seen as he was travelling from Wilmington to Charlotte a few days ago. The alert, which seeks assistance from the public in locating Mullis, was issued after he was reported missing under concerning circumstances. The individual reporting Mullis' disappearance stated that they were separated during the trip, as Mullis is believed to have taken a wrong exit on Highway 74 toward Asheboro, WSOCTV reports.
The attendant worries regarding Mullis' whereabouts are markedly amplified due to his being believed to suffer from dementia or Alzheimer's, conditions that render him particularly vulnerable. Details from QC News describe him as wearing a blue shirt, dark jogger-style pants, and distinctively mismatched footwear—a white shoe paired with a medical boot. In a move to gather collaborative eyes, the authorities have also circulated a description of Mullis’ vehicle, a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, gray or silver in color, bearing the North Carolina license plate number KDB4416.
This specific vehicle may be recognizable by its noticeable damage—a "busted out" back passenger-side brake light and additional damage to the passenger-side bumper. These details are critical for the public's vigilance, giving potential witnesses identifiable traits to report. As stated in a WCNC account, the silver Dodge Grand Caravan might stand out due to the aforementioned damages.
Those in the locale who might spot Mullis or his damaged vehicle are urged to reach out to the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons.
