Simi Valley has seen an uptick in youth altercations, the latest being a brawl at the Regal Plaza, as reported by the Simi Valley Police Department. Last Friday, two teenage groups with a history of conflict clashed, ending in a physical altercation and subsequent police involvement.
Arriving officers found themselves amidst a scene dotted with involved teenagers. An 18-year-old white male, initially unwilling to be considered a victim despite a minor mouth injury, changed his stance the following day. Another 18-year-old, a black male part of the former group, had earlier expressed his wish to be recognized as a victim.
The consequences of this violent exchange range from a possible concussion, chipped teeth, to minor cuts and abrasions. Through the collection of statements and video evidence, law enforcement has narrowed down four juvenile suspects. All suspects have since been arrested for battery, as elucidated by the police department.
The investigation, far from over, promises to evolve. With the possibility of additional suspects and charges looming over the horizon. The collected information and onwards developments will be channeled to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, as the law weaves its net around the events of that day at 2751 Tapo Canyon Rd.
