The Snohomish County Fire Marshal has extended the Stage 1 outdoor burning ban in unincorporated areas until September 14. The ban covers all residential burning and voids any previously issued permits, according to the Snohomish County.
The county’s outdoor burning ban allows small recreational fires under three feet wide and two feet high, which must be supervised with a water source nearby. Propane and charcoal grills are still permitted under Stage 1 and Stage 2 conditions. If a “Red Flag Warning” is issued, all outdoor burning, including recreational fires, will be prohibited, as reported by the Snohomish County.
Officials in Snohomish County are urging residents to use extreme caution with outdoor fires and avoid burning if safety is uncertain. A burn ban is in effect, managed by the county Fire Marshal’s Office under the Department of Planning and Development Services, which also oversees planning, code enforcement, and inspections. For updates or questions, residents can call the Outdoor Burning Information Hotline at 425-388-3508 or visit the main office at 3000 Rockefeller Ave. in Everett.
