Travelers from Oklahoma City to Dallas can look forward to easier journeys as Southwest Airlines resumes its nonstop service to Dallas Love Field Airport, beginning March 5, 2026. The reestablished route will feature two daily flights, answering the frequent calls from local travelers for its return. According to an announcement on the City of Oklahoma City website, the service had previously been suspended since January 2020.

Oklahoma City's Director of Airports, Jeff Mulder, expressed his delight over the comeback of the service. "I know Oklahoma City will be happy to hear that Dallas Love Field flights are returning," Mulder stated in an announcement released by the City of Oklahoma City. He praised Southwest's continuous commitment to the region's community and passengers, acknowledging the airline's responsiveness to public demand.

Southwest is broadening its wings with increased flights from Oklahoma City to two additional destinations. Starting in March 2026, there will also be twice daily flights to both Nashville and Chicago Midway. The move showcases Southwest's ambition to strengthen its presence in OKC while tailoring its service offerings to the travelers' needs. However, this growth comes at the expense of two other destinations. Southwest will also be withdrawing service from St. Louis and San Antonio next spring, choosing to allocate resources to the newly expanded routes, a reported by the City of Oklahoma City.
