The National Weather Service in St. Louis is forecasting a typical summer week with a mix of sunny skies and a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms. According to the NWS latest update, today St. Louisans can expect "isolated showers and thunderstorms after 4pm" with "patchy fog before 8am." The high is anticipated to hover around a cozy 86 degrees, while the evening promises a mild 68 degrees with partly cloudy skies.
For those planning ahead, the remainder of the week calls for mostly sunny days with temperatures steadily climbing. By Friday, locals can anticipate the mercury reaching a scorching 93 degrees. The NWS detailed forecast notes that Thursday brings "sunny, with a high near 92" and a light southeastern breeze, potentially offering a mild respite from the heat for the city's residents.
Looking forward to the weekend, "Sunny, with a high near 94" is the word on Saturday, suggests the NWS, with the night remaining "mostly clear" and temperatures dipping to around 74 degrees. Nevertheless, the weather service also indicates that the upcoming Sunday and Monday might not be all sunshine; there's a "20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms" penciled in for both days, keeping outdoor enthusiasts on their toes.
In their Hazardous Weather Outlook, the NWS advises, "There is a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, mainly along and east of the Mississippi River." The outlook extends across portions of eastern and central Missouri as well as west central and southwest Illinois, but for now, "Spotter activation is not expected at this time."
