St. Louis Park is tuning up for another diverse week of live music at Veteran's Memorial Amphitheater. According to a social media post from the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, residents and visitors can look forward to a lineup that promises something for everyone, jazz hands included.
This Saturday sets the tone with a little bit of old school as the SouthSide Big Band takes the stage from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Meanwhile, morning people—and those dragging kids out of bed—can groove to Kidsdance from 10 to 11 a.m., because heaven knows, the children are our future, let's teach them well and let them lead the way at a reasonable hour. Sunday keeps the spirit open and experimental with Open Mic Night: A Cast of Characters, where locals can showcase their talents from 7 to 8 p.m. These are the kinds of grassroots artistic expressions you just can’t find on those video apps the youngsters are into.
Avid fans of folk, mark your calendars for Tuesday. Dan Israel Folk Fest will be serenading park-goers with earnest tunes and likely, some contemplative lyrics from 6 to 9 p.m., making it the perfect backdrop for a summer evening. Concert-goers are encouraged to bask in the vibes as the sun sets and the crickets, begin their own little concerts in the grass.
The concerts are a staple of the community's summer activities and are held at the scenic Veteran's Memorial Amphitheater, located at 3700 Monterey Drive. Should Mother Nature decide to show off her own dramatic flair with some severe weather, concerned attendees can call 952.924.2567 for updates on concert status. After all, there’s no business like show business—unless, of course, that show is rained out.
