The National Weather Service in Honolulu reports that trade winds will continue through the weekend, bringing moderate to locally breezy conditions. Showers are expected mainly over windward and mountain areas, while leeward areas will stay mostly dry. Some overnight showers in Maui County and the Big Island may move toward Oahu later today, but overall rainfall will remain limited, according to the National Weather Service.
Trade winds will keep showers over windward and mountain areas, with mainly VFR conditions and occasional MVFR in showers; no AIRMETs are in effect. Strong trades around Maui County and the Big Island will keep a Small Craft Advisory in place into early next week. South shore surf will decrease early in the week before a new south swell arrives Tuesday, as stated by the National Weather Service.
Moderate to locally breezy trade winds and dry conditions from Friday may bring near critical fire weather, though no advisories are in effect. A Coastal Flood Statement is in place this afternoon for low-lying areas due to peak high tides, and a Small Craft Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM HST on Saturday for specific waters, as mentioned by the National Weather Service.
