Local law enforcement officers recently nabbed a wanted man in Sonoma Valley after a flurry of activity that included a backyard chase, a canine unit, and a helicopter deployment. On Thursday afternoon, Sonoma County deputies on patrol spotted 28-year-old Eduardo Arellano-Bravo, a suspect with an outstanding felony burglary warrant, on Sierra Drive. Realizing he had been spotted, Arellano-Bravo attempted to evade capture, which led deputies on a chase, and he was seen commandeering a bicycle reported stolen just moments before.
Deputies, including a canine unit and the aviation asset known as Henry-1, scoured the area for about 90 minutes before apprehending Arellano-Bravo. In a shed on the 18000 block of Riverside Drive, after one deputy spotted him jumping a fence, Arellano-Bravo ultimately surrendered.
Later that day, deputies responded to a burglary in the same vicinity. The homeowner had discovered a break-in and had a list of stolen items, which the deputies matched to clothing found in Arellano-Bravo's possession. According to the Sonoma Sheriff's social media post, the items were confirmed stolen when Arellano-Bravo was caught.
Now, behind bars in Sonoma County Jail, Arellano-Bravo faces multiple charges, including burglary, petty theft, resisting arrest, and, on account of the earlier felony warrant, he was initially wanted for. The bail has been set at $80,000 for Arellano-Bravo, who remains in custody, waiting for the justice system to take its course. The Sheriff's Office praised the community's aid and stressed its value in the arrest's success, emphasizing the important partnership between public cooperation and law enforcement efforts in maintaining safety.
