Mount Miguel High School in Spring Valley was the scene of a swift and thorough law enforcement response last Friday, following reports of a possible school threat, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. Promptly after the threat was reported just after 3:40 p.m., officers, detectives, and deputies from the Rancho San Diego Station and Lemon Grove Substation were dispatched to the school.
The incident was reportedly connected to a physical fight among students earlier that day. In their investigation, authorities located and contacted a student believed to be involved and the student's parents. A residence search was conducted to uncover potential weapons, but the search came up empty. The school, too, was swept with caution, yielding no dangerous materials. The heightened security protocols at Mount Miguel were lifted after officials concluded that there were no further suspects or threats.
