In a recent revelation that has shaken the community of Middleburg, a 14-year-old boy is accused of committing a grisly crime against his own kin. Trevor Lee, after allegedly shooting his parents, made a call to 911 which the Clay County Sheriff’s Office released with redactions. During the 911 call, an audibly distressed Lee requested the operator to "pray for me," as documented by News4Jax.
Following the incident, sheriff’s deputies reported that they discovered Lee's parents, 44-year-old David Lee and 44-year-old Brandi Smith, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The scene unfolded at their residence located near Silver Point and County Road 220, as per the details shared by First Coast News. Lee, having left his home, journeyed approximately 1.4 miles on foot to CrossPointe Church in Fleming Island, where he chose to make the critical call to authorities and openly declared the need to pray.
Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook explained that after Lee's arrest early Monday morning, he was charged with two counts of second-degree murder. The arrest report mentioned "several spent shell casings" found in the bedroom and suggested the murders may have been preceded by an argument between the teenager and his parents on Sunday night. The suspected weapon, believed to be owned by the couple, was located within the home.
