A third individual has been arrested in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Philadelphia rapper LGP QUA, real name Qidere Johnson, 6abc reported. On Thursday, U.S. Marshals detained Amir Earley, 21, after he attempted to evade authorities. He is now the third suspect linked to the fatal shooting of Johnson on May 11.
According to FOX 29, the apprehension occurred on the 3000 block of Reach Street when Earley fled out the backdoor of a residence, his arrest follows the previous detention of 19-year-olds Joshua Thomas-Coleman and Abdul Boyd, both charged with murder for their alleged involvement in the incident that unfolded near M and East Luzerne Streets in North Philadelphia, law enforcement sources suggest the motive was robbery as they caught sight of Johnson flaunting gold chains.
The backstory of the crime, as NBC Philadelphia explains, involves a scene where surveillance video depicted two individuals around the intersection where one diverged to the right and the other to the left, moments later, a bright flash could be seen coming from one of the men, who by then had approached a vehicle.
Previously, on May 21, Earley had already been identified and charged in relation to the shooting, the footage played a pivotal role in the investigation that also saw the earlier arrests of Thomas-Coleman and Boyd, they were charged directly in the wake of the shooting, both arrests occurred in May which helped piece together the events that led to the untimely demise of LGP QUA.
