For those interested in keeping a finger on the pulse of local governance, the Town of Farragut has launched a new, user-friendly Agenda Portal. This digital tool offers a straightforward way for residents to stay informed about the workings and discussions of the town's leadership.
Available directly on the town's official website, the Agenda Portal streamlines the process of finding meeting agendas and associated materials. Access to information is now just a few clicks away—whether selecting a date from the portal’s calendar, choosing a board or committee from a dropdown menu, or entering search terms related to a specific topic. However, this functionality applies only to meetings dated June 12 or later. Insight into the upcoming agendas is promised to be available ahead of scheduled meetings, typically one week before said gatherings. This provides ample time for constituents to prepare, whether they plan to attend in person or tune in to the civic proceedings at their leisure.
Bringing even more accessibility to the table, the Agenda Portal features livestreamed videos of key meetings such as the Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen, and the Municipal Planning Commission gatherings. Archival recordings dating from the start of the current year are likewise readily available on the portal, with an added bonus: since the July 24 Board of Mayor Aldermen meeting, videos come timestamped, thus allowing viewers to leap directly to discussions of specific agenda items. For those interested in meetings preceding 2025, the town’s YouTube channel remains the go-to archive.
The official announcement, detailed on the town's website, underscores the commitment to transparency and civic engagement embodied by the new portal. As noted, meeting agendas are not just delivered in text; they are supplemented by the capability to download related documents.
