Heads up, Tulsa organizations eyeing federal funds for community projects: It's time to mark your calendars for the 2026 HUD grant workshops. The City of Tulsa has officially announced the dates for essential workshops for those interested in snagging a slice of the HUD funding pie, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA). The City of Tulsa's press release details the when and where of these mandatory meetings.
If you're looking to attend — take note, attendance is a must if you're planning on applying — RSVPs are being accepted for workshops scheduled for September 2 and 3, held at Tulsa City Hall. The application process is, after all, competitive and the city doesn't want would-be grantees flying blind; the idea here is to provide a clear understanding of what it takes to qualify, the exact requirements, and insights that could make or break an application, and here's how it's going down – Workshop 1 will be from 2 - 4 p.m. on September 2, followed by two sessions on September 3, from 10 a.m. - Noon and the last from 2 - 4 p.m. Be sure to email [email protected] with your RSVP before the deadline at 5 p.m. on August 29, especially if you're representing multiple grant applications, this means RSVPing for each separately.
For those who might be unfamiliar, these workshops serve as a primer on the federal grants provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), aiming to enhance the living conditions and economic opportunities for folks in residential pockets whose opportunities are often left in the shadows. Initiatives brought to fruition through these grants range from homebuying assistance to community center development, resources for the homeless, and support for individuals grappling with AIDS.
