A catastrophic event unfolded in Delaware County last night when a multi-vehicle crash resulted in the deaths of two women and left five others with serious injuries. The incident, as reported by WBNS, occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on U.S. 23 in Orange Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol detailed that the crash involved a 2018 Dodge Ram, which traveled southbound and crossed into the opposing lane, striking a 2021 Toyota Venza head-on. Following this initial collision, the Ram further collided with a 2025 Honda Accord, and both vehicles caught fire, explained FOX8 News. The sequence of events tragically ended the lives of Carol Waldman, 64, and Amanda Reidling, 54, who were passengers in the Venza.

Additional victims include the driver of the Venza, a fourth passenger in the exact vehicle, and the driver of the Ram, all of whom were transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital with serious injuries, as per information from AOL News. In a less grave circumstance, the driver of the Honda Accord and their 8-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The OSHP confirmed the use of seatbelts for the occupants in the Honda, but the same could not be confirmed for those in the other involved vehicles, according to the reports. As the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation, Delaware County EMS, and Orange Township Fire and EMS assisted in the response, the investigation into the exact causes of the crash is ongoing.
