It's been a whole year since UC's Siddall Hall reopened its doors after a major facelift, and by all accounts, the upgraded digs have been winning praises left and right. Nestled snug between campus landmarks and a bustling student-centric business district, Siddall Hall, together with its sibling Calhoun Hall, delivers one knockout campus vista complete with stadiums and the College-Conservatory of Music within arm's reach.
Students have been flocking to this hub, not just for the scenery but the convenience that comes with living a stone's throw from retail havens like Target, Amazon, and a smattering of eateries including the Hummus Republic and Shake Shack – and let's not forget the all-important caffeine stop at The Rowdy Paw nor the finger-licking offerings at Raising Cane's.
The prime location especially resonates with those like Meg Lynch, a percussion performance maven in her second year, as she told UC News, "Siddall Hall is one of the closest residence halls to CCM." Lynch, who called the third floor of Siddall Hall home last year, attests to the sheer convenience it offered her, a boon for her student life and routine, it allowed easy dashes to class, and those much-needed breather moments in the coziness of her own room, all within the heartbeat of campus life.
And it's not just the practical perks that are drumming up recommendations, Siddall Hall's social atmosphere is another significant draw, as Lynch recalls, "I would recommend living in Siddall Hall for first-year students," as per UC News, where sunrise viewings from Calhoun Hall become enshrined memories thanks to its easterly orientation, her words paint a serene start to any day, and experiences shared with roommates cement into the collegiate chapter of one's life.
