In what can only be described as a celebration of commitment and service, the Union County Sheriff's Office (UCSO) held a promotional ceremony this past Tuesday. According to a release shared by Union County Sheriff's Office, the event, hosted by Sheriff Eddie Cathey, took place before an audience of family members, friends, and colleagues. Each newly promoted employee stepped into the spotlight to receive their new insignia of rank, a symbol of their progression and dedication.
Underscoring the evening's significance, Jarrod McCraw, retired Assistant Superintendent of School Support for Union County Public Schools, took the stage as the keynote speaker. His message to the team, ripe with motivation and encouragement, was a major highlight of the night. Surrounded by their personal network of support, the individuals getting promoted saw their badges pinned by either Sheriff Cathey or a chosen family member, the latter embodying traditions and the bonds that extend beyond the workplace.
The UCSO proudly announced the promotions of seven of its members, each a testament to their perseverance and leadership within the law enforcement community. The roster of promotees includes Chief Deputy Brian Keziah, Captain Scott Green, Lieutenant Eric Mangum, and Sergeants JR Austin, Kassie Clark, Darrell Morris, and Jason Rand. "We are proud of their continued leadership and dedication to the Union County Sheriff's Office and the community we serve," the UCSO stated in their announcement.
It is an occasion that does not merely reflect personal advancement but echoes the tradition of service inherent in law enforcement. Following their new responsibilities, the promoted officers are expected to lead with fidelity and an even greater commitment to safeguard the community in Union County.
