Heads up, Waukesha commuters: as summer unofficially draws to a close this Labor Day, those of you relying on public transportation should plan to adjust your Monday schedules. Waukesha Metro Transit has announced that on September 1 Route 1 and Metro lift will be running on a Sunday schedule. This also means the Transit Center will be taking a day off—doors closed, no customer service window, and restrooms out of commission, according to the City of Waukesha.
Don't expect to catch any of the Waukesha County Commuter Routes either; 904 and 905 are fully taking a break. It's only after Labor Day that everything returns to normal, or to sufficiently piece together the full tableau of local transit, with regular service resuming on September 2. Parking, as reported by the City of Waukesha.
The Downtown Transit Center at 212 E. St. Paul Ave., across from City Hall, is a key part of the City of Waukesha's transportation system. It offers an indoor waiting area, restrooms, and printed bus schedules. Each bus has its own bay, making it easy to find your route.
