Highs will reach the upper 90s with heat index values over 100, and lows will stay just under 80 degrees.
Hurricane Erin has become a Category 4 storm, the first major hurricane of the 2025 season, but is expected to turn east and not make landfall. Click2Houston reports that areas near Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas may have “indirect” effects, including up to 6 inches of rain and “large swells creating dangerous rip currents from the Caribbean to the East Coast.” In Houston, rain chances are forecast to decrease to 30–40 percent next week, with periods of heavy rain still possible.
