As September rolls in, Workforce Boulder County (WfBC) gears up to mark National Workforce Development Month. The series of events, as reported by Boulder County, includes job fairs and skill demonstrations designed to cultivate a thriving labor market in Boulder County and beyond.
For the community, by the community, this seems to be the thread weaving through the month's activities. Workforce Boulder County is planning both in-person and virtual events, open to public participation. These range from a Colorado FWD Essential Skills Demonstration on September 3 to a specialized 55+ Job Fair on September 23. For those interested in self-employment, there is a virtual panel slated for September 9. Details for these and other events are available on WfBC’s Calendar of Events, and registration can be completed through Connecting Colorado.
As obtained by Boulder County, Boulder County Commissioner Marta Loachamin expressed optimism about the initiative. "Workforce Boulder County continues to be an integral way for residents to access opportunities of employment and education. I’m hopeful that folks will participate in this month of celebration and learning as we continue to share important resources more broadly throughout Boulder County," Loachamin said. This sentiment underscores the county's dedication to not just recovery but the growth post-pandemic.
Following the economic turbulence caused by the pandemic, Colorado's network of Workforce Centers, including Workforce Boulder County, persists in its commitment to bolster career growth. They provide a wealth of no-cost workforce programs aimed at upskilling, reskilling, and 'nextskilling' individuals. Attendants of the program are privy to resources critical for both starting and advancing their careers.
