
A fatal shooting in Southern Dallas last Saturday morning has led to one arrest, according to local police reports. Dallas Police were called to the scene in the 2700 block of Donald Street after reports of gunfire at approximately 9:15 a.m., where they discovered 26-year-old Calan Gilbert, who was later pronounced dead. The Dallas Police Department, in a statement provided by FOX 4 News, said they found Gilbert unresponsive upon arrival. Dallas Fire-Rescue attempted to revive Gilbert, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and died at the location.
Marko Chavez, a 22-year-old, has been arrested and is currently facing murder charges in connection with the shooting. Authorities quickly managed to thoroughly investigate and find sufficient grounds to arrest Chavez. "Dallas Police Department's homicide unit" is continuing to diligently work on the ongoing investigation, as FOX 4 News noted.
Further details surrounding the circumstances of the incident have not been fully disclosed as of yet. The Dallas Police Department issued a press release, which was cited by WFAA, confirming the identity of the victim as Calan Gilbert and the arrest of Chavez.
