In a notable act of service, the Arapahoe County Veterans Services Office (VSO) has paved the way for veterans to reclaim $5.5 million in benefits within the first half of 2025. According to Arapahoe County, the VSO has become a cornerstone for aiding those who have served, by handling an impressive volume of over 7,000 phone calls, and facilitating more than 800 in-person and virtual appointments.
The outreach didn't halt at phone inquiries; the office also assisted in filing 442 new federal claims alongside 610 additional applications and claim correspondences. This multifaceted approach by the VSO reflects an unwavering commitment to those who have donned the uniform, providing a financial gateway and lifeline to resources many veterans may often find elusive.
Beyond strictly monetary gains, the Arapahoe County VSO has stood by veterans and their families with a spectrum of services. From ensuring dignified burials to facilitating pensions and aiding with Medicaid applications, the office extends its assistance as an act of honor to the men and women in uniform. The VSO's involvement in community events and state initiatives further bolsters this dedication.
