The weather outlook for Boston as we usher in the final weekend of summer shows a promising range of sunny skies and mild temperatures that are sure to make outdoor enthusiasts rejoice. According to the National Weather Service, today boasts a high near 68 degrees, with clear conditions continuing into the evening as temperatures take a dip to around 48. The wind, which remains gentle, will transition from a northerly to easterly direction, setting the stage for what appears to be an agreeable day.
Those planning to venture out later tonight may want to bring an extra layer. "Tonight will be the chilliest so far this season," says a report by NBC Boston. Suburban areas in particular, are expected to feel the brunt of this cold snap, with temperatures forecasted to plummet into the mid and upper 30s. The skies remain clear, however, which should allow for temperatures to bounce back to near 70 by Monday afternoon.
As the work week approaches, Monday stays bright and sunny with a high around 74 degrees. Gradually as the week progresses, we head towards a warmth peak on Tuesday with temperatures soaring to the low 80s. As suggested by the NWS, the week will bring a mix of partly sunny and clear conditions, setting a pleasant backdrop for any early fall activities.
However, rain may soon be on the horizon as we approach midweek. "Our hope next week is for a slow-moving weather system to up the odds for steady rain by the middle of the week," reports NBC Boston. This system, though tentative, is expected to stick around for a while which, may lead to some much-needed precipitation. Wednesday and Thursday carry a 40% and 30% chance of showers, respectively, with temperatures ranging from the low 70s to mid-50s at night.
