Strengthening the bridge between law enforcement and community, the Boston Police Department's District B-2 has teamed up with telecommunications giant AT&T to offer a Cyber Awareness Safety Training session. Designed specifically for seniors, the event took place at the Kroc Center in Roxbury, aiming to empower this often tech-vulnerable population with the knowledge to recognize online scams and protect their personal data.
The latest workshop marked the 24th installment of such training sessions across Boston, each one a step forward in the BPD's continuous effort to serve and educate its residents. One attendee expressed gratitude for the insights shared, noting the increasing complexity of the digital world. "It's important for us to keep up with these changes," she said to the BPD, "especially when it comes down to protecting our own information."
According to the BPD, the sessions are more than just about learning the ropes of internet safety; they're an investment in community relations. "Partnerships like this allow our officers to share valuable tools and resources while continuing to strengthen connections with those we serve," the department's statement read.
